Best Quality of Butterfly, Bertoia Stools and Arco Lamp

Butterfly Stool

The Sori Yanagi butterfly stool is a piece of furniture that will enhance the elegance of the interiors of any house it is used in. This modern piece of furniture undeniably exudes Japanese sensibility.  Originally created in 1954, this modernist design still fits into any interiors due to the timelessness and the grace of its design.  The lines of this butterfly stool bring to mind the delicate wings of a butterfly as well as the image of a whale diving into the ocean at certain angles.

Sori Yanagi combined his essential Eastern sensibility with the techniques perfected by Charles and Ray Eames of bending and shaping wood into pleasing styles.  The butterfly stool is made of two L-shaped pieces of rosewood plywood which are inverted and then braced together with brass hardware.  Each stool is unique as the wood pattern on each piece of plywood is different.

Arco Lamp
Harry Bertoia used his creative genius to enrich furniture designs in 1952 by bending metal and industrial wire rods into practical forms of seating. Bertoia stools are not merely elegant but they are also extremely sturdy and perfect for use in public places like restaurants and also in residential complexes. The Arco lamp was designed in 1962 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni.  Inspired by street lighting, they attempted to provide customers overhead lamps without the problem of wiring.  The Castiglioni brothers considered designers as problem solvers who attempted to create a need in a consumer or fulfill the needs of a consumer.
